Fleur de Lis Norfolk latch - These decorative latches were high tech in the early 1800's.  Sheet steel had become available and the punch press was being used in smaller shops.  England supplied most of America's demand until they were superseded by cast iron latches in the 1840's.  Requires bar with lift knob (L39) to open from the back.
